Caverns and Christmas trees


This nice Derbyshire town gets busy in summer, located at the start of the impressive Winnats gorge pass, it is the place to head to for those interested in walking the surrounding hills such as Mam Tor, Winnats Pass and Cave dale.

The charming village is full of quaint stone houses welcoming pubs and some shops, above the village on the ridge sits the well preserved Peveril castle, below the castle the surrounding bedrock is full of caves farther afield are more impressive caves such as the Blue John Cavern, Peak Cavern, Treak Cliff Cavern and Speedwell Cavern which includes an underground boat ride.

Castleton is a famous for its lights and Christmas decorations the streets are lined with many trees during the festive season.
